CANDESSA AESTHETICS EVENT - DECEMBER 3RD

ATTENTION!! Friends, family, and everyone in between: my fun place of work, Candessa Surgical and Laser Aesthetics is holding an education night on December 3rd AT 6:00 PM. It is featuring Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup (go to www.janeiredale.com to learn more). Known as The Skin Care Makeup, the Jane Iredale line is so safe and beneficial to use that it is recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists throughout the world. They've won numerous awards, namely the prestigious Allure 'Best Of Beauty' award for many of their great products. We are having their local makeup artist come in and talk about great ways to give your makeup a 'boost' and 'sparkle' for the holiday season. We will be pulling some audience members and doing the applications on them, so it will be loads of fun! If you are still looking for gifts, we will have some fun pre-wrapped ideas. The event will be held in our building (1551 S. Main Street, Bountiful) in suite 200. It starts at 6:00 pm and will last approximately 45 minutes. Summer Picts

I was browsing through my iPhoto and realized I had a ton of pictures from the summer I haven't posted! Excuse the lateness, but I figure 'better late than never'. It was a fun summer full of hikes with family, road trips to southern utah, birthday's, biking, gardening, silly nieces and nephews and concerts. The Feist concert up at Deer Valley. She is that white spot in the middle of the stage. My awesome mother-in-law who agreed to come to the Feist concert with me at Deer Valley. 1 Phraze: gay men really can dance! All Hallow's Eve

Halloween! I love the holiday - candy, pumpkin carving, candy, caramel apples, trick-or-treaters, candy and costumes. We had our first Halloween party with my in-laws (who are the funnest in-law's on the planet) and we went as The Addam's Family. I will have to follow with some pictures, because everyone did a great job on their costumes and it was a blast. Then, we spent time carving pumpkins, eating Stacey's amazing chili and handing out candy on Halloween with my brother Taylor and his cute family. Abbey (their oldest) loved getting her hands all over the 'pumpkin guts' and then taking those hands and putting them in her mouth . . . yummy. We dressed Lily up as a fire-woman (that's all they had, but it was dang cute) and she was patient for a small amount of time and then pulled off what she could. She loved greeting the Trick-or-Treaters, licking Abbey's face and then staring at her while she cried. Great fun!

Holy Crap, it's a 4 Foot Powder-Day in November!

Thank the Snow God's for this blessed event. Snowbird opened this weekend, making it one of the earliest openings in its history and around the country. We got to share in this occasion this weekend and all I can say is . . . aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. Brett and I first went out into the Uinta's to expose Lily to the 'art' of skiing in the backcountry. It took her a little while and a few stumbles to understand that there were two slippery 'planks' attached to our feet under all that powder.

Fall!

I love Fall! It is my favorite season next to 'Ski Season'. I love the colors, smells, pulling out sweaters, and the pre-cursor to SNOW. It has been fun taking Lily on walks up Memory Grove and letting her go wild in the water and play with other dogs.

New Home - SLC, Ut

Yes, we made the hard decision to move to Capitol Hill in downtown SLC, Ut. We LOVE it here, especially since we can have Lily. We occupy the top floor of an old Victorian house that we have recently found out was built in the late 1800's. The landlord was even gracious enough to let us add some color, which makes us feel a little less 'pale'. We are so close to everything, namely the mountains. Our ward has been so fun to get to know so far and we've found some fun connections out here to family and friends. My siblings were teasing us that we would turn into 'hippies' and 'liberals' (no offense to those of you who are apart of any hippie or liberal grouping) . . . we will keep you posted if those changes occur.

LILY

Meet Lily - The newest addition to our family. She is a pure bread Black Lab (I like to refer to her as 'Lily-Bean'). She is 2 years old and loves cheese, peanut butter, and SNOW. Brett discovered her through Lab Rescue Utah, once we decided to adopt. We went back a forth about starting with a puppy or adopting and once we heard that Labradors are the most euthanized pet in the US we felt strongly about saving one that is already or partially grown. She was already fully trained and makes a great house dog. We fell in love with her once we saw her and it's been amazing ever since. Brett and I are constantly amazed at how obedient, loyal, loving and fun she is and has been; she is a good dog. She has already been skiing, mountain biking, fishing and hiking with us all over the Wasatch front, but has especially loved the early snow we've received. She goes crazy for SNOW - that's why she fits in so well with the two of us! We love her and hope all who come in contact feel the same!

Well, it's only been a few months since we last updated our blog . . . sorry about that! We have been so busy with moving, getting a dog, jobs, pilates classes (just Mallory of course), and Outdoor Emergency Care classes that we've had to put this off.
